Common problems

There are a range of issues that can occur in buildings, like damp, rot, subsidence, leaks and cracking.

Many of the issues related to housing, especially in buildings constructed before the second world war are due to the way that we have maintained them. Modern conventional materials can be very different from the initial materials used to build the houses. We assume that these materials are better than older ones, but in fact, some of the issues that our buildings now face have been brought about by using these new materials.
