Awareness raising organisations

The need for all of us to be more aware is essential. If we demand sustainable buildings, pressure on developers will grow and this in turn will lead to more being constructed. This will help to reduce the present premiums that are associated with them. Many of the costs associated with sustainable building can be offset by some associated savings, either in the building design and process, or in the long term reduction in running costs.

Climate change will affect us all and so we have a responsibility to help meet the reduction in carbon dioxide emissions as set out in the 2003 Energy White Paper and the Kyoto Protocol. With 50% of the UK's carbon dioxide emissions coming from buildings it becomes obvious why we should spend time, energy and money on building sustainably.

The following organisations are able to give advice and information about sustainable development issues in the South Wales area.

The structure of the information is as follows:

  • Organisation
  • Address
  • Telephone number
  • Email contact
  • Fax number
  • Personal contact
  • Website
  • Description of services / sustainable development credentials * written by the individual companies
