Timber framers

Timber is a carbon neutral building resource (the trees absorb carbon dioxide during their lives to make the wood) and also requires very little energy in its production. Timber framing speeds up construction times and is also a very flexible technique that can easily allow for high levels of insulation. Like all timber, the frames should be sourced from sustainable forests. So check to ensure that there is 'chain of custody' certification associated with the wood used (e.g. FSC).
