Water saving devices

The demand for water will only increase over the coming years and so it is prudent to invest in water saving measures so that you are prepared for the associated increase in cost. Compulsory water meters are also heading this way, even in Wales!

One of the best ways on saving on your water usage is to fit a retro-device to your toilet, as this is the biggest single demand on household water consumption. If you replacing a washing machine or dish washer make sure that it is well rated for water consumption as well as for energy.

Interflush

The interflush is a revolutionary invention from Yorkshire that can reduce water use in the toilet by 47%. Easy to fit to existing toilets with a side flush handle (not suitable for centre flush or dual flush toilets).

This is the most efficient use of water as you use exactly what you need every time you flush and it does get more efficient than that without the expense of new very-low flush toilet. Click here to buy.

Mecon Water Saver

This is a similar device to the Interflush, but is cheaper, easier to fit, but less elegant. It also could fit where an Interflush won't. Click here to buy.

Tapmagic

Tapmagic produce a range of products that retro-fit over taps to reduce water flow by up to 70%. There are dual flow devices (to allow for easy filling of sinks), single spray flows (suitable for community centres etc where people are just washing their hands) and other more specialist devices. The basic tapmagic comes either as a press insert, or a 22mm or 24mm threaded insert. There are also tamperproof varieties for community areas. Click here to buy.
